Frank Murray, the retired English teacher at the centre of The Conversation, lives in Sydney. So when Stephen Franks reads from the book, he likes to do it close to where Frank himself would have walked. A reading is not a lecture. It is closer to a conversation that happens to have a book open on the table.
A Short, Intimate Reading
A typical event runs short on purpose: a reading from one or two passages, then a discussion about how the Rise Again series came together, why it is set where it is set, and what an AI companion is (and is not) for a person working through grief. There is time for questions, and copies are available to sign.
Frank Came Home: Sydney, August 20
Stephen brought The Conversation to Sydney with a reading at On The Same Page, 311 Charlotte St, Sydney, NS. Thanks to everyone who came out. Watch the bookstore's Facebook page and FoxIsland Press for news of the next one.
